People who have had their countertops covered with ceramic tile and grout are always dismayed to discover this and are presented with the problem of how to clean grout countertop.

They soon discover that keeping it clean can be quite a chore. When attempting to address the issue of how to clean grout countertop, the easiest solution is to put together a mild cleaning solution which will be capable of cleaning the grout and the tile around it without causing any damage to either. It is possible to purchase some commercial cleaning products but these tend to be quite expensive and can also be quite harsh and may not be suitable for use around cooking surfaces.

If you are looking for an answer on how to clean grout countertop, assemble the following items: a spray bottle, some white vinegar, some dish detergent, a nylon scrub brush, a toothbrush and one cleaning rag.

Into the spray bottle combine 2 cups of warm water, 1 cup of white vinegar, and  tablespoon of dish detergent. Place the lid on the spray bottle and shake vigorously. The dish detergent will break down any grease or food residue and the vinegar will kill off all the germs and bacteria.

Spray this solution onto your tiles directly then scrub the solution into the tile with the nylon scrub brush.  You can use the toothbrush to scrub any lines of grout that are too thin to be covered by the scrub brush.

Next, use the cloth which has been dampened to remove any food residue lifted by the scrub brush. It will also clear away any cleaning solution as well. Allow your clean countertop to dry completely before using.

If, after using this method you are still left wondering how to clean grout countertop you can make a paste from vinegar and baking soda. Apply it to the grout lines on your countertop and allow to sit for fifteen to twenty minutes. You can use the scrub  brush for a better result if necessary. Remove any leftover paste with a wet cloth and rinse the countertop well
